Jul 22, 2008 not impressed, the beer looks normal enough, but is rather light in the malt flavor without a lot of herbal notes, the bitterness in on par with hops and I dare say you can’t tell the difference, rather bland flavor for a Heather beer, I think a homebrewed version would be more telling.

Jul 19, 2008 bottle 12 oz. Pours a straw yellowish orange with a very small white head. Smells of flowers and herbs, go figure. The taste is quite peculiar, but flavorfull. The palate is very bland, almost flatThe beer seems to be balanced but I do not have much of a taste for beers in this tradition.

Jul 16, 2008 Bottle, Barleycorns, Nantwich. Poured a hazy golden colour with a small white head. Fruity fragrant aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavour was on the sweet side with vague herb, spice and malt notes. Didn’t think I was going to like this, but its not bad at all.

Jul 14, 2008 Updated: Jul 15, 2008Bottle (500ml). Poured a golden hay with a slight haze and a averaged sized, fluffy, white head which was average lasting. A spicy aroma with strong notes of nutmeg and allspice, spicy hops, coriander, some banana clove like notes and hints of caramel malts. Flavor was very smooth with not much bitterness; strong notes of phenol and nutmeg with some allspice, suggestions of vegetables, some caramel malts hiding beneath the spice (presumably the heather) and some clove-like, vanilla, banana notes in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a cream mouthfeel, smooth texture and a good finish.

Jul 11, 2008 Not much aroma, but my sense of smell is not that good. Light, yellow gold color, clear. Surprisingly creamy, mild taste, not what you would expect based on the color. A bit flowery, definitely has a fizzy bite to it. The description of a dry wine finish is dead on.

Jul 10, 2008 Low carbonation. crisp spiciness with overtones of citrus. Flavors perplexed me at first, this one takes a while to wrap your tongue around. overall very drinkable, really refreshing aftertaste. great for a hot summer evening.

Jul 5, 2008 Updated: Jan 19, 2009This is a very interesting brew. The flavor is strongly malty, with some deep citrus flavor coming through. Aroma is also malty, with a bit of dustyness, like must. It is an intriguing beer, and definitely worth checking out if you like lots of malts with a bit of citrus flavor.
