| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2008 Interesting aroma, floral, with earthy tones. Slight maltiness. The appearance is a very hazy yellow with a gold/red tinge. Interesting flavor: lot of maltiness, and some spicy notes. The palate has a strange yet not unpleasant bread dough like character, which dissipates quickly. A little fruitiness also lingers. Interesting brew. I will always try any so-called "traditional ale" as I find them fascinating. This one is definitely unique and worth a try, even if I wouldn’t drink it everyday. alobar (1014), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2008 Couldy golden color with no head. Thin soapy ring. Slightly sweet aroma. Fruity aftertaste with minimal spice. Refreshing. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Clear, golden color with a thin head. Light, fruity aroma. Really simple yet good flavor. With a strong malt backbone, and a dry, clean finish, this beer is semi herbal or floral, has light notes of apricot, touch of grape. Very refreshing, I don’t know why such low scores. I thought this was well done and original. The history alone deserves a point or two. VitaminR (424), Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Honeysuckle and burnt caramel nose. Minimal head, orange/amber, maybe more translucent than hazy, has a nice "glow". Has almost a tart soapy taste (not necessarily a bad thing), with sweetness showing up later for some reason. Good carbonation, finish is interesting, kind of herbal? Not sure I would get again, but worth trying. thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber. Aroma of clover honey. Earthy and nice. Flavor is very mild. Almost like budweiser, from which comes my aversion to this beer. It gets a little old, and I feel like I’m drinking swill beer. FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2008 11.2 ounce bottle- I wish it was a 12 ounce bottle, or a 16 ouncer! Poured an unpromising cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma was floral and fresh. Taste had a semi-hidden sweetness with a strong honey or clover, back. Had an almost creamy texture in the mouth. Very pleasurable. Definitely a keeper. Get some. downender (2570), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 500ml bottle. Vivid amber in colour with a small, tight white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of honey, spring moorland flowers and an unusual bitter, woody herbal edge, almost thyme-like. Flavour was big, with lashings of heather honey, spicy fruit and a long, astringent finish. A pleasant change. durhambeer (1200), Durham, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 10, 2008 I’ve tried to stomach this beer, but I can’t ever finish one. Tried twice. Pour looks light-medium golden and the aromas are promising: spice, grass, floral notes. I just don’t like the taste at all. My wife said "Asparagus... yech" after tasting. Dry finish. Maybe this style just doesn’t work for me. Because of the distinctive taste, it probably needs to be the first beer of the night rather than something tasted after hoppier stuff.
