RSRIZZO (1332), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 27, 2007 Had this beer on 1/9/2006. Aroma is a sweet malt scent. Color is light orange with very low carbonation and head. Taste is rich, sweet and spicy. It all starts with a medium body that goes down with a creamy sweet malt feel. Finish comes on with a sweet malt flavor backed by a light bitterness and a slight spicy feel. This is a tasty full flavored beer. puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Sep 24, 2007 Bottle with expiration date of Aug 2008 from a collector’s set called "Historic Ales from Scotland." Pours a cloudy amber, kind of like a Belgian white. Aroma is more fruity than malted. Medium mouth feel and definitely a fruity or floral taste. A nice brew. Bold orange, thin head. Spicy aroma. Also a spicy taste, like Abbeye de Rocs - very malty. Almost sage-like stuffing taste. Maybe a little sweet, but thoroughly tasty. blklab2007 (932), Connecticut, USA Sep 23, 2007 bottle poured an amber in color with a thin white foam layer on the top. decent carbination, smell is caramel malt, flowery yeast, nutmeg, and some earthy tones. taste is lighter than the smell leads on, malts are fairly smooth, dry on the finish, and some sweetness. definitely a different beer in a nice way, the heather has a very garden grown spices taste like it could come from my own herb garden. interesting to think of people thousands of years ago drinking this stuff, lots of heather instead of hops. brianbuntz (49), Santa Monica, California, USA Sep 16, 2007 Opaque light brown. thin head with large soda-sized bubbles. Apart from grain and yeast, it has a woodsy, floral aroma. Has an herbal flavor with a taste similar to dried garlic. An odd beer and not one that I would want to have frequently. Pastor (509), Maine, USA Sep 15, 2007 bottle poured inot a fluted glass (they said to ) cloudy golden color lots of carbonation but no head slight lace ,
sweet floral earthy aroma.Clean light watery mouthfeel (not a bad thing )
strong heather flavor sweet and refreshing great ale pintocb (505), Darsville, Georgia, USA Sep 9, 2007 Clear golden color. A slight hint of a sweet flowery aroma, but mostly smells of yeast. The flavor is light with a bit of a salty aftertaste. Clean finish. Odd, but refreshing. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 8, 2007 Mild, but has a slight edge on the tongue. It is brewed using heather flowers and scottish malt, so you get a light petal texture/flavor across the palate. This is an interesting beer to ponder and enjoy with it’s unique characteristics.
