theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Nov 11, 2006 Burnt orange, small off white head. Sour citrus aroma. The flavor is sour instead of bitter, herbal and flowery. Refreshing, easy to drink. Kinda tastes like 7-up. By the end I was sick of it. nimbleprop (819), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 10, 2006 Poured a clear, grapefruit like color with a thin, whispy white head. Interesting and unique floral aroma a little like incense. Initial flavor is malty, sweet but also a tad soapy. Finish was watery and sweet with floral notes and honey. Pleasant and refreshing for the most part. markas101 (541), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Nov 9, 2006 33 cl bottle, Shelburne. Cloudy yellow pour. Malty floral aroma. spicy ginger at the back of the throat. Sharp but quick finish, very refreshing, close to a ginger-beer. beedman (53), Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA Nov 6, 2006 330ml bottle pours a orange-yellow colour with an aroma of heather and malt. Taste is quite an experience. Malty at first with a bit of sourness, some strong floral notes give way to a spicy, herbal sensation on the palate, which lingers for a bit. Ends with some earthy herbal flavors and spice, semi-sweet malt lingering. Different, traditional. Glad I bought a four pack. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 6, 2006 Pours a pale yellow with a nice white head which sticks around for a while. A nice, slightly sour aroma, floral. A rather astringent taste, light, mild malting and floral "hopping" from the Heather. Carbonation is appropriate. A very drinkable beer, a great alternative to American light beers. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 3, 2006 Very interesting, well-crafted ale. Very distinct, flowery and spicy at the same time. Little honey flavor, finishes well tomthompson89 (1453), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 2, 2006 flowery, sweet some spice, like nutmeg cloves and honey. hazy orange colour, lotsa earthy aroma, nice smooth aftertaste. pootzboy (1031), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2006 Bottle:
Brilliant amber ale with a rocky-sticky 3 finger cap that laces the supreme hell out of the glass sides! Looks great...Lottsa malt!
Siganture aromas for this brewer: floral wild botanicals with a musty-woody herbaceous decernment, some clover honey-like sweetness.
Rigid primal malt spine, medium body, floral-herbal-grainy character
Up front a rush a solid coarse ground bready malts just as they begin to sweeten, a flood of herbal-botanical flavors rush in to keep them from cloying...nice herbal-musk mellon tastes devlop...finish is mellow, soft and accentuated with a nice herbacious heather-like taste that lingers as lightly bittering aftertaste with the hopping.
I’m really impressed with the ales from this brewer....consistantly malt-herbal tasting and infinitely mellow with a soft mineral mouth.
