Rballs01 (264), Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, USA Nov 22, 2005 Light and refreshing. Some floral notes but not as much as I expected. There’s were some unusual flavors around but nothing abnormal. I enjoyed it quickly then moved on. jerome6957 (17), New York, New York, USA Nov 21, 2005 Big bottle pours a murky amber with a tiny white head that disappears almost instantly. Carbonation almost nil. Very light bread, with a strong tropical fruit aroma. Very close to pink lemonade, with peach and cola. The taste is equally unique and tropical, very stong of kiwi or pomegranate. Almost tastes artificial, like wine cooler. Body was chalky and WAY to watery and thin for such a strong flavored beer. With no backbone, the heather just overwhelms and starts to become nauseating. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Nov 18, 2005 hazy golden beer. smells like band-aid(medicinal), very herbal, earthy and some caramel notes. taste: bit sweet, bit fruity(apple;granny smith), spicy, herbal, malty and caramel. finishes very fruity (apple, peach). silky smooth texture, low on co2. nicely balanced beer with an intriguing development. lovely!! rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 15, 2005 Hazy amber-golden hue, with a some small chuncks of yeast, and a shy foamy head, with a floral herbs character, heather aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a spicy, heather and medicinal herbs note, sweet caramelized malt, leading towards a fruity, faintly acidic finish. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 13, 2005 Mild aroma of fruit & caramel. Interesting smooth flavor: earthy, flowery, fruity (banana/apple/grape). Medium to light body, but a distinct taste. Strong but not unpleasant aftertaste. More intriguing than tasty. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 8, 2005 Bottle. Golden colour with a off-white head. Herbal, spicy, malty aroma and taste. Medium body and a sweet dry finish. DCJack (146), Alabama, USA Nov 4, 2005 This is the herbal tea beer.
Very light, wispy, ethereal.
Like a romp through a magical forest.
I am glad they didn’t call it Satan’s Brew.
It could have been called "Feather"
hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Nov 1, 2005 Golden with a white head. It looked, in fact, like a typical international lager. Actually it tasted a bit like one, except it wasn’t bitter enough and had a slight aroma and taste of malt and dried grass. It wasn’t bad, but I refuse to believe this thoroughly modern session beer resembles whatever Stone Age brew the ancient Gaels drank. This is another example of spurious historical associations and ’heritage’ so beloved by Britsh brewers.
