shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 29, 2005 Updated: Jul 10, 2008A beer that everyone should try, though it takes a bit of getting used to at first. The heath and clover aftertaste that plays merrily with the floral nose making this a damn interesting brew. r464 (285), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2005 Golden color with no head to speak of and a floral aroma. The flavor is light and malty with distinct herbal and floral tastes. Fairly light and almost watery. Unique though not something I would get in bulk. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 27, 2005 Updated: Oct 6, 2005out of the bottle. unfiltered. thick greyish flakes through. without trying to be too crude, this beer in the glass looks like a dirty fish bowl with old food flakes and poop in it. the mouthfeel is dry and pasty. really unpleasant. tastes general fruity but caramel apples in there. dirt. combination of too many bitter herbs, especially cloves and heather (of course). will not be drinking again. only redeeming characteristics that the head lasted and despite the poor craftsmenship you can tell it was devised from quality ingredients. Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 23, 2005 Unfiltered, pours a hazy orange from the bottle without much head. Aromas of caramel apples, spices, and dirt. Light tastes of the same, with the spices becoming more pronounced towards the end. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 21, 2005 bottle. copper colour slightly hazy white head heather aroma quite bitter and spicey finish. nice and fragrant with heather and honey roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2005 Pours a hazy pale orange color with a small amount of foamy white head. Aroma is of mint, wet mulch, damp leaves, and a wet dog thrown in for good measure...definitely very unique. Flavor is dirt, leaves, mint, and mushrooms which i did not enjoy. overall, not a good tasting beer at all. sandwichpants (117), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Aug 17, 2005 Interesting and different. Looked like a lager, gold, clear, not too much head. Herbs, plants, flowers, spice, earthiness in the aroma and the flavour, though it’s all fairly light. Can’t really detect much in the way of malts, and no hops. Bright and pleasant, could actually make a decent spring or summer beer. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2005 Updated: Sep 5, 2006Bottle (330ml). Poured a murky orange-gold with a very small head. Aroma is very light, very high-sweet - I get honeycomb, clover, plenty of malt, fresh-cut hay and some sweet fruit (orange and apricot) as well as mild floral and pine/spruce resiny notes. Taste is strongly of dried flowers, with pine resin, citrusy malt and some musty, mushroomy earthiness. Finishes quite quickly, but the hops announce themselves on the way out the door. Mouthfeel is astringent. I can’t help but think of turpentine as I drink it - but for all that it’s very pleasant, just as enjoyable as the first bottle I had back in 1998.
