Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered
Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.
A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.
Recommended with rich and Spicy foods.
Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass.

Pours yellow\peach clear with minimal white head. Aroma of some unique yeasts and some hints of grape and citrus. Thin body with watery flavor, some small amounts of fruity yeast flavors of green grapes with some good sweetness. Not enough robustness for my taste, but some interesting flavors.

has a citrus malt type aroma, has a fresh crisp floral taste, body seemed a bit thin, but pretty decent.

Honey colored body with a nice soapy white head that never quite leaves the top of the brew. Aroma is subtle caramel malt and a bit of citrus. Flavor isn’t at all aggressive, but is a bit earthy, floral, yeasty, and herbal. Pretty creamy mouthfeel that was a bit unexpected. Not a bad beer.

Taste 3/9 bottle. Looks: pale gold body with a thin white top. Aroma: Orange peel, clove and spice. Taste: Clove and orange peel in a thin bodied brew that is both sweet and spicy. Finishes clean and fruity.

Pale golden beer. Chestnut aroma. Subtle flavour of chestnut and wet earthy leaf. Surprisingly nice if a little odd.

Pours a cloudy orange gold color, with a smallish, bubbly white head. Smells of some mild orange peel, very subtle spice, caramel malt, and hints of clove. The clove and mintiness of it really came out in the flavor as well as other spices. the orange citrus definitely played a role as the caramel malt seemed to take a backseat here. Drank very nicely and was interesting for a simpler beer. i enjoyed it.

First, I will admit this bottle is a touch old but here goes. Poured a cloudy golden amber with a nice white head and decent carbonation. Nose was nice. Floral and earthy with a big malty sweetness in the background. All malty and sweet on the palate with a little vegetal herbalness in the back. Decent and I would probably like a fresh one even better.
