Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered
Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.
A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.
Recommended with rich and Spicy foods.
Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass.

Hazy dark yellow, small head. Interesting aroma from resin and and pine needle. Quite sweet flavor from clove, maltyand with a quite mild finish.

330ml bottle poured a hazy gold with a small, quickly dissapating white head. Aroma was floral, carmel and earthy. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of carmel, flowers, and a faint smokiness with a lingering floral finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with a somewhat lasting large white head. Mild aroma of honey, oranges (and other fruit), caramel malt, light hops and spices. Mild malty flavour of sweet wine, fruit, honey, caramel and flowers -- almost Fruit Beer-like. I would prefer this with more hops but as it is it’s enjoyable, just not a favourite.

Cloudy copper colored ale with a fruity aroma. Bitter beginning with fruity notes and ends with a lingering bitterness. Somewhat dry finish on the palate.

Bottle. Tight white head on top of a goldish brown body. Aroma is a floral, honey thing with some peppery spice. The flavor is more honey up front with ginger and light caramel. I like the earthiness of this. I’ve had a few gruits and this isn’t as good as those.

This brew poured a medium head and it left a good lacing on the side of my mug. To me it had a fruity, citrusy aroma to it. It had a cloudy appearance. It had a bitter taste to it and it left an aftertaste. I was not overly impressed with this brew.

Definitely not predictable the first time I had it! Unique taste, to say the least. Floral aroma and taste, obviously. Slightly darker blond with decent carbonation and head. Don't let it get warm when you drink it.

Very pleasant looking golden ale with a light fizzy aroma and a coffee like flavour with a dry bitter finish, and malts as well. Overall quite a plain semi flavoured coffee beer.
