Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered
Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.
A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.
Recommended with rich and Spicy foods.
Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass.

Pine aroma. Stinging, reisiny flavour. Sweet and unbalanced finish. Just because it tastes "different" doesn’t mean that it is good!

Nose reminds me of a mead my cousin made for my sister’s wedding. Honey, sweet malt, bubblegum, violet. Really strange flavors here - violet, toasted malt, strong sour/bitter/violet finish. Odd stuff. I wouldn’t buy it again.

This beer looks OK in the glass and smells good, but it came off as being a little weak in the flavor department. The main thrust of the flavor had a watered-down leathery taste that detracted from the beer.

A dirty yellow color bordering on orange. Fairly strong aroma of flower. Not to hoppy, but still noticable. A light burnt malt flavor, that has hints of skunk. Average beer.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Huge floral aroma with some spices and lemony citrus. Floral notes also dominate the flavor, with lemony, and herbal notes. Pretty tasty. Certainly worth trying.

Delicate mild grassy and mineral aromas/flavors hauntingly akin to Coors. Dry, soft bitter flavors stretch into the finish. Enjoyable.
