Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered
Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.
A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.
Recommended with rich and Spicy foods.
Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass.

Je l’ai bu avec un pizza un peu d’épice, ils avaient raison. Ce n’est pas une bière typique, elle a un saveur hors de l’ordinaire, un goût d’herbe et épice, florale et beaucoup de caractaire.

Bottle - 330ml. Heavily carbonated light amber body topped with an average lasting white creamy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with various herbal and flowery notes. Taste is refreshing and dominated by the herbal flavors. Ends with a dry bitter finish. Interesting, without being spectacular... Thank you PrimeMinister!

330ml bottle from a gift set from Christmas. Pours a mostly clear thin looking orangey copper with an average size off whtie fizzy head that disipates quickly. Initial aroma is rather sweet with lots of floral notes, the floral hints remain and lavender type scents begin to dominate. Thin bodied with light carbonation, body is a little to thin for my taste though. Flavor doesn’t have that floral aroma in it and seems basically like a slightly swee amber. Not bad but nothing to seek out.

A tea colored pour with no head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Flavor is fruit and floral. Malt is barely noticeable. It is a unique and interesting beer. Tasty as well. If this is indeed an ancient recipe then my Scottish forefathers drank well.

Ambler look in color. OK head. Nice smell almost like an old ale slightly flowery but more heavily of scottish malt. Taste is lacking and seems watered down.

Peat smoked aroma with honey. Poured blonde. The flavor was dry sweet, than bitter. Mead-like flavor with sweet fruits.
