Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered
Brewed in Scotland since 2000 B.C. heather ale is probably the oldest style of ale still produced in the world. From an ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) it has been revived and reintroduced to the Scottish culture.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.
A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt charachter, a spicy herbal flavour and dry wine like finish.
Recommended with rich and Spicy foods.
Drink slightly chilled from a fluted glass.

Orange-brown beer with small head. Hazy. Fruity aroma with tones of mint. Fruity flavour with tones of red jelly candy, spices and black pepper.

Nice beer with a very original taste. It has a warm amber color with a normal medium head. In the nose you have intens floral aroma’s with a fresh lemongrass like accent. The taste is smooth and a little oily. In the mouth you have apple like hints and white wine accents. In the afthertaste there is a nice complex touch of flowers and fresh herbs.

Clear, golden. Killer head. Very unassertive nose. Some sweetness and maybe a little of the floral aspect mentioned. Smooth, soft body, light floral and malty notes, slightly bitter. Not bad by any means.

I have no idea what sweet gale is but the odd ingredients pay dividends in this beer. Very enjoyable. Deeply hazy, invitng amber with small but frothy head. Floral, Honey, malt, with herbal spiciness. Mild carbonation, nice quaff.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light golden color with a medium frothy white head, good carbonation. The aroma is floral and sweet malt. The taste is a sweet herb flacor with a dry finish. A good ale from Williams Brothers.

Poured a bit of a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Smell was really very fruity and floral, very pleasant. The flavor was something else entirely though, kind of dry and puckering. Very much like the dry white wine in the description. Interesting mix of the two sense in this beer. Very interesting.

(Scotland) Coutesy of the Capt. Well, This brew had a golden amber color with a thin white head. Had a spicy / flowery aroma with citrus / grainy taste. Not very impressed but but drinkable.
