An excellent malt body, superb aftertaste...like red wine in an earlier description. I have never tasted beer like this. No hops, but some sort of flower spice(heather flower?) which is very interesting. Smooth on the throat. Just a wonderful experience altogether. It was worth the price. I will buy it again. :) kunoichi99 (4), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 11, 2001 Admiral (524), Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma isn’t all that floral to me, but there is a distinctly floral aftertaste. The overall flavor is far more like a lager than an ale. The wierdest thing about it is that I, normally a hop fiend, am enjoying it a lot. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

This is an exception. The flowery aroma and amber hue invite one into a deliciously complex but delicate series of flavors -- earth, grass, citrus and mint all seemed to be there to me. Great smooth finish, a wonder on a hot lazy day. Definitely one of my new favorites, and a great bottle to boot. labattblueleaf (225), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

After reading the description, yes, it did have a wine-like finish. The beer itself was somewhat sweet with a full flavor. I believe I may try these other brews by Heather Ale Ltd. "It looks pretty," said the young clerk, scanning my bottle, "is it good?" Good only begins to describe this beauty, and while the label is among the best designs in the world of beer, prettiness continues on every aspects of this classic ale.
Color is a rich orange, and the head is moderate, off-whitish. Aroma is refreshing and upliftingly lovely : honey, foremost, and flowers, roses, herbal, vegetal, fresh, and sweet. Light in body, but full in flavor, incomparably smooth in taste. Perfect balance. Solid malt, less hops, but the heather and honey flavor make up for lack of hoppiness, and make for a perfectly delightful beverage.
The taste is so light, sweet, and utterly ethereal, this belongs in a class of it’s own. Lovely, full texture, honey, citrus shining through with every sip! Perfect with food, dessert, or when you deserve a reward for being an exceptional example of humankind.
