Golden and nearly clear with a lasting head, this ale is unassuming. I'm getting a slipperyish, soapy body, not too thin (but darn close), kind of like a good bohemian pilsner. Not in taste, however; this has got sourish malty bits and a little citus, perhaps from the flowers, I dunno. Cool and refreshing. jmcguire1969 (149), Lafayette, Colorado, USA

There’s a sweet aroma to this that I cannot place. It’s probably a combination of the malts and the Heather...something I have not samples before. I’ll have to try a few different interpretations of this style to know where this lies amongst them. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA

The aroma, at first sniff, was of Walkers Smokey Bacon crisps... maybe even Frazzles. I’m now convinced that it’s actually closer to Walkers Roast Chicken. Mes, even now, swears it is in fact Smokey Bacon. I’m not so sure. But as he has eaten more crisps than I will ever consume in my life (especially those of a meat persuasion), I’m going to take his word for it. Smokey Bacon Crisps!
The flavour tastes much like rosemary to me (my favourite herb, might I add). It’s refreshing and its relatively-low alcohol content and complex flavour makes it a great last beer of the evening. The aftertaste is more rosemary (have I mentioned that I have no idea what heather is meant to taste like? Is it a bit like rosemary?). Lovely. Refreshing. I will be buying this again. antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA

A very smooth taste with just a little bitterness in the aftertaste, but does not linger too long on the palate. This beer did gain more flavor as it warmed up, so it might have been too cold initially. fluids (364), USA

Spicy aroma with ginger, caramel and malt. Malty flavor with spices and caramel. Lightly dusty mouthfeel. Dry, bitter finish. Rating: 7-3-7-3-14-3.4. (060422)
Bottle. A slightly hazy golden beer with a fingerthick white head. Heathery nose with sweet pale malts and a flowery touch. A hint of ginger too maybe. Sweet malts, heather and some flowery notes. There’s some ginger-like notes in the flavor too, but without the almost soapy touch there’s to ginger. Medium body. Sweet, almost sugary towards the finish with heather, pale malts and some bitterness. Drying up in the very end. A nice and slightly quenching beer, but a bit on the sweet side. Like it. Aromas of malted flowers and perfume. Light to medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are malty w/ complex spices. Citrus, plumbs, unsweetened strawberry, kiwi, pine needles, and florals w/ defined earth. Finish is long w/ malted perfume and has a balanced bittering. An interesting brew indeed.
