Head retention is good and leaves behind decent lacing. Aroma is NIL, nada. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A malt forward brew w/ a barnyard kinda spice character. Very earthy w/ nunces of grasses and herbs. The finish is bittered nicely and leaves an herbal flavor that lingers. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Bottle. Golden red pour, light lace. Heavy alchohol taste but no bite. None of the ingredients stand out from the other. Very middle of the road beer. redlight (1487), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 19, 2007 Dark berry aroma. Light amber color. Dry fruit, berries, smooth. There is a noticable wheat flavor. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Bottle, Odd Bins. Bright gold, cap of fine white head. Plain bready malt, a bit of citrus. Light, inoffensive malt. A bit of vague fruit. Very light bodied, fairly low carbonation. Not bad, but for all the exotic ingredients, it’s pretty much an average bottled bitter. Kind of a shame--all the label hype, making you think you’re in for something really unique: what a perfect opportunity to really go crazy. MesandSim (5922), London, Greater London, England

It’s very similar to the aroma of the Heather Ale but more pleasing due to it’s subtlety. Decent appearance that keeps a thin head. Flavour is similar to the aroma. I don’t particularly taste gooseberries but only expect them because of the name. Not that I feel let down. Quick finish. Quite a nice beer. unclemattie (2425), Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2007 330ml bottle. Hazy, golden, and a greenish tint. Aroma is a mystical, unfamiliar floral. Flavor is a smooth wheat, berry. I tastes like something that I ate at IKEA’s cafe. Goes down very easy and smooth! The most easy drinking beer I think I’ve ever had. The aroma is amazing. Like no other. bhensonb (4337), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Different, arguably floral aroma, lightly concealing some light malt. I have no idea what bog myrtle and meadowsweet smell like, but it must be those. Pale gold color with a decent white head that remains for awhile. Thin to medium body. Something of a floral aspect, backed by a light fruit sweetness, which has to leave before some (I hope) hop bitter is noticeable. The finish is all over the mouth, lots of impacts in different areas. Could be some citrus, but how can I know it’s not bog myrtle? Very interesting, and not dead common.
