Aroma is fresh and fruity with a malty/cereally background. There are notes of wild ripe fruits and what I think are the gooseberries. I noticed also hints of peanuts and bread. Different and interesting.
Flavor is bready and fruity with a moderate malty sweetness. Fresh and quaffable but not really a sipper. Touches of wild berries are somehow present acompanied by nutty flavors.
Light to medium body. Low carbonation. Short finish of cereal. A little watery texture. Short bready aftertaste. Simple and refreshing but lacks character. Good effort but just an OK beer. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA

I don’t have all of the adjectives I used, but I do remember being suprised it wasn’t a fruit beer because the gooseberries was quite prevelant on the nose and mouth. Quite a good beer with a dryish palate. oh6gdx (8839), Vasa, Finland

Strong salad and berries in aroma, along with some hints of hops. Flavour is dry gooseberryish. with hints of hops and some wheat. Very crispy and refreshing beer. Surely quite "alternative" to much I’ve had before. Rating #1700. pilsnerrogge (1783), Finspång, Sweden

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Bottled. Pours a hazy gold with a lacy white head. The gooseberries come through in the nose, along with some flowery hops. Medium body and carbonation. The gooseberries show up again in the taste, along with some straw, bread, and hint of what seems to be bacon. Lemon-infused tart finish. I haven’t had gooseberries since I was a kid, this is definitely the most interesting way so far to taste them. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 10, 2006 Bottled: Cloudy orange gold without any head whatsoever. Aroma is strongly fruity, of gooseberries I guess. Moderately sour but the taste is fairly weak and watery. I can’t help feeling this is more like a soda than a beer. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Slightly opaque orange brown with a hard earned and fast fading head that left a bit of lacing. Smells of matches and of dark grape juice. All this and some jam and toffee on tasting that makes it a bit like a melted boiled lolly. Some tangy tart flavour, which gives it a bit of a remote mouthfeel. The alcohol seems too obvious given it’s only 5%. Fairly light bodied, a little bland on flavour, but still an interesting beer - thanks to highlandlad for sharing.
