So I just bought this fancy four pack of traditional Scottish beers, and when I got home and took them out of the box I realized they had expired one year ago, so have a feeling this will be swill. This beer poured a hazy beigey brown, zero head or carbonation in this old beer, looks unappealing all ready. The aroma was comprised of a sweet berry and pepper combination that I liked or maybe I didn’t like I guess I don’t really know if I liked it or not, but I’ll say it is different and unlike anything I’ve come across before. This expired version of the beer taste like ass, nothing but pure ass, feels thin flat and slimy all at once. I had this beer a couple of years ago and I highly enjoyed it, but this is all swill, I want to pick up a fresh bottle and redo this review. Davros (247), Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | May 23, 2009 Pale amber with a small head. Aroma is full of sweet apples, white grapes and definite gooseberries. Also some weird sort of resiny herbal scent, presumably from the bogmyrtle.
Flavours are quite similar, tangy gooseberries, bready malt and more of that herbal note, which contributes an extra dimension to the otherwise weak finish.
Medium body suits the beer well.
The sweet and tart gooseberries are refreshing, but this is really a novelty beer. madquacker (724), Canberra ACT, Australia

Rich orange, small head. Plant-matter aroma, some malts. Again, plant-matter in the taste. Rather dull. Finish is more plant-matter. Not doing it for me.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Bottle. Golden with citrus flavours dominating. Pleasant but a bit thin. Doesn’t quite hit the target. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Bottle. Musty malt aroma. Hazy golden body, white head. The flavor is delightful. Wheat and, yes, berries. Nothing overpowering, just subtle and refreshing. An unexpected treat. Nightfall (647), Athens, Greece

Citric and herbal aroma. The flavor is a bit weird and not very well balanced. Citric fruits, lots of wheat, herbs and spices. Refreshing ans interesting yet I don;t thng I would try another bottle. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Bottle. This is golden, transparent in the glass with a thick, creamy white head. There’s lots of herbal aromas in the nose: grass, dandelion, then some berry (gooseberry?) and citrus, especially orange. The head on this thing is really yeasty, doughy; looks great. There’s plenty of grass in the flavour, more berry and citrus, a slight bitterness in the finish.
