I tried this beer after purchasing a 4-pack of "Historic Scottish Ales" from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer pours a transparent light gold colour with almost no head. The aroma is extremely fruity with the gooseberries dominating the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is earthy, sour malts, and some hoippy bitterness in the finish. ghawener (965), San Salvador, El Salvador

Per dirla con il poeta Stantuffio: "Quando il Re si muove io non mi tuffio". Rune (2850), Tromsø, Norway

Golden brown body under an one-finger, frothy white head. Discreet hints of berries and fruits to the nose. Taste of spiced berries. Short, bittersweet tail. Flavour has an hint of gooseberries, a weak taste of honey and bread, along with some crystal malts. Odd beer. mullet2007 (206), St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Pours a faintly hazy straw colour with next to no head. Smells like berries, not much else. Flavour has a little bit of wheat spiciness. There might be a bit of some berries in there, but it’s hard to say. There’s some hints of grassiness as it warms up. It’s a little thin and fairly dry and puckery. Carbonation is low, and not necessarily in a good way. terrybail (339), London, Ontario, Canada

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 19, 2008 7/28/2007: Grozet Gooseberry & Wheat Ale is murky and the color of pear juice from canned pears. It is tart with some flavors of wheat malt and something fruity. I’m guessing that the fruitiness is the gooseberries, but it’s difficult to say since I’ve never had gooseberries before. This beer is highly carbonated and quite light on the palate. My advice to anybody thinking about trying this beer is to pass it up and try something else!
