Bottled. A cask version at 4.5% is available in August and September.
Gooseberry Wheat Ale
From the Gaelic "Groseid". Since at least the 16th century Scots monks and alewives brewed indigenous drinks from cereals, wild herbs and ripe fruits. Tibbie Shiels green Grozet was immortalised by such Scots literati as Sir Walter Scott, Jas Hogg. (The Ettrick shepherd) and Robert Burns whoconsidered it a most convivial drink.
Brewed with lager malt, wheat, bog myrtle, hops and meadowsweet then secondary fermented with ripe Scottish gooseberries.
A pale golden beer, with a refreshing fruit aroma, clean palate, fruity wheat flavour and crisp finish. Recommended with, light foods, pastas and salads.
Drink well chilled in a tall glass.

Again, what can I say about this brewery? I love all of their beers and this is no exception. The fruity, almost floral nose is perfected by the very crisp, clean flavor.

Kind of lagery. Tasty. Complicated aftertaste. Flowery?

This is one of my top 5 favorite beer! I wish it were available in larger quantities here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It’s only available in a "gift pack".

Not sure why nobody on this site seems to favor this one too highly -- it’s one of my favorite warm-weather brews. Easy drinking, with a bit of a flowery nose and a sweet start to the tongue before opening up to something more complex. It’s fun to take the tastebuds on a history tour, as well.

The color is golden with a huge head, the flavor is slightly sweet but very hard to describe (gooseberries?). Overall it was a very tasty ale and would for sure try again.

Straw yellow colored, hazy, with good dense head. Amazing fruity medicinal aroma. Palate is herbal with good tone of gooseberries. The taste I could not compare to any of my previous beers. A legend.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a small head. Smells lemony and a bit on the skunky side. Tastes very fruity with citrus, coriander and cane sugar factoring in very prominently. Has kind of a flat mouthfeel that’s hard to place. very interesting overall and worth revisiting in the spring/summer.

Wow I am really surprised to find that this beer is not rated in the top 25%. It is really underrated. Aroma is like a wheat bread and hops. Color is a milky light brown. It has virtually no head and is lightly carbonated. Taste is crisp and sweet very much like a cider except it is very malty. Also the malt is perfectly balanced with the hops and alcohol. Finish has a very light gooseberry taste and malt.
