| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours an opaque chestnut colour with a thin, but sturdy tan head that fades to ring, leaving minimal lacing. The nose initially grabs you with a strong and distinct mocha-coffee aroma, and thats it. The flaovur adds much complexity, briniging about smokey, bacon flavours, some saltyness and some bitter hops. The palate is a bit thin for the flavour profile, but is softly carbonated and quaffable. Very nice. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours a dark nut brown color with a thing tan head that fades slowely and leaves some laceing along the sides of the glass. The nose is a nice rich moca miked with spice and coffee. the initial flavor is nice and rich in chocolate and bitter coffee with that finish of spice and vanilla. It almost tastes like it was aged in a oak barrel but the alcohol content is not that high which is a little dissapointing. Overall this is an awesome beer with nice robust flavors and does not resemble much of a traditional ale. jcweaver (65), VA Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 18, 2008 Poured dark with a nice head. Very smooth for a dark ale with a good malty flavor. The name is deceptive because the seaweed taste is very light. nearbeer (1886), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
