I was thinking Popeye’s can of spinach beer that was probably salty. This is a malty smooth ale with a chocolate shadow. I would share this one with anyone that is interested in trying new things. tomthompson89 (1489), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma has a decent amount of chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, vanilla, and some dark fruit. A little thicker on the palate then I expected but still seemed slightly watery. Flavor doesn’t have as much chocolate as the aroma suggests. Overall this beer is alright. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2007 i recall zeswaft had a rating where he said he was terrified to try a beer. that’s where i am with this. it pours way darker than i expected. almost a porter, but some red light shines through the bottom. pretty elegant, nice head. smells like a porter, too. lots of chocolate, a little roast. some vanilla. pretty good. tastes a bit muted, but i like it. if this was rebadged i think it would score a lot higher. it’s pretty much the same thing as lion stout. certainly isn’t bad. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 6, 2007 I wasn’t really very impressed with this beer, but it wasn’t the salty noori/kelp taste I was anticipating. In fact, if you didn’t know that it was in there, you wouldn’t be able to discern its presence from the taste alone.
Color was dark with a bit of head. Aroma is pretty plain. Flavor is not bad, and is some subtle roastiness. Mouthfeel is unremarkable.
