| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2005 Pours a somewhat thick dark mahogany brown. Fair amount of tannish head. Aroma is lots of dark chocolate and coffee, mixed with some toffee. Begins somewhat sweet with a good amount of malt flavor and complexity. Finished with creamy goodness and some strong roasty/espresso notes. Medium bodied. This brewers collection of eclectic brews never lets me down. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

This is not a bad beer, just boring as a dog’s ass. It tastes primarily of spring water with a bit of an odd flavor that I suppose COULD be seaweed, but then how the hell would I know? Overall, bland, boring, and generally a waste of money. DKlovesbeer (172), Sarasota, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 22, 2005 This is a nice novelty beer but it really doesn’t taste very good. Pours dark brown with a small milk chocolate head. Flavor is very much like a chocolate stout but there is an unpleasant funk in this brew that really didn’t appeal to me. There are some interesting flavors in this beer but it needs more alcohol to round it out and make it taste like beer rather than some bizarre malt beverage you’d buy at a health food store. fluids (364), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2005 This was funky but I liked it. I didn’t taste the seawood. It had a coffee chocolate component and the body was rather thin. The taste was good but could be better. It needs more alchol to fatten it up.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Updated: Feb 10, 2008bottle. This is a solid dark red with a thin head. Sweet butterscotch aroma. The flavor was a little more complex, beginning with a very sweet cola-like taste which gives way to the seaweed after a moment. It’s semi salty with just the slightest roast in the finish. I didn’t care much for the thin, fizzy mouthfeel, however. This strange brew is good for variety and it’s not really bad but I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this to everyone.

Bottle best before March 2008. Pours a very, very dark brown with a tiny head. This brew is tastier than I remember. Emphasis is given to roasty, nutty, chocolate flavor with a light backdrop of seaweed which gives it a nice backbone. Flavors of licorice, toasted wheat buns are here too. I like it. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Bottle. Pours a dark clear brown under a tan head. Has a damp twig, earthy aroma with with chocolate roast notes. Chocolatey flavor with more damp bark and a musty leafiness. Can’t say that I detect any seaweed but then again I’m from Wisconsin. I’ll stick with the branch descriptors. Good beer.
