There is also some sort of vegetable smell in there, which I guess must be the seaweed. The taste is more akin to a stout with its roastiness. The whole beer is a nice drink but a tad thin. haf (333), Gijon, Spain

Almost black in colour. Light bodied and oily with notes of chocolate, tar and seaweed. Nicely salty. No bitterness. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

The surprise was the aroma of chocolate and coffee. Rich and robust. Not at all what I expected from an ale, especially one with seaweed in the name. Quite good. The nose is malty with just a hint of... what is that.... grain? Maybe? The taste is smoothe and somehwat bitter with some malts. Let me say tho, seaweed... I was just a little worried. It pours out an extremely dark shade of brown, almost black. Small creamy white head diminishes quickly with no real sign of lacing. Scent is very porter-like with coffee and bitter chocolate tones, a faint saltiness is evident in the nose as well. It possesses a very full rich flavor. Slightly astringent. Led by flat bitterness which transitions into a thin dark coffee flavor. A briny, saltiness makes in appearance in the middle followed by the final earthy pangs of bitter hops in the finish. Carbonation is mild. I enjoyed this one. RichardGretton (3149), Leicestershire, England

Coffee, roastyness and chocolate in the aroma. Coffee and cocoa in the flavour. Nice bitterness in the end, that has an edge of seaweed to it. Nice one.
