Aroma of molasses, caramel and some fruit. Malty sweet taste with a bitter finish. I had wondered if this bottle was flat because of the blandness of it. I do have another bottle, so I guess I am forced to drink another and see if there is a difference. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Caramel malt, crispy malted hops, belgian fruit, light woody brett reminders. After a while has a uriney aspect to it.
Tastes much like it smells… light fruity sourness with some kind of weizenbock / brown ale feeling of caramel sweetness + sourness.
For me, a nice refreshing full belgian beer. Nice balance of sweet, sour, esters, etc. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 12, 2006 Bleh. This is one of the worst Belgian Strongs ever. A hybrid? Maybe that’s where they went wrong. Pour was amber-red color with a small initial head, weak lacing. The aroma was sour, off, maybe some wood and butter. Flavor was that sour buttery flavor typical of some English Strong Ales. Brown sugar and molasses notes came through with an astringent and vinous character, just really not good. I boo this beer and regret buying it just because Heavyweight is going, going, going, gone! Boooo! stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Bottle sampled with Beerded-one. Pours bronze\brown witn no head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, molasses. Flavor is sweet up-front, caramel, alcohol not masked well, fruit. Good body, reminded me more of a barley wine. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

A hazy amber dark brown with light carbonation. very small and quickly diminishing head. Aroma: Dark fruit, sweet malt, molasses, caramel and slight alcohol. Taste is very sweet with a lot of dark fruit and caramel with a slight alcohol warm and a slightly bitter finish. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2006 Bottle. Poured like flat cola. No head whatsoever. It would be a decent aroma of prune, fig, molasses and candy sugar. Would be decent if it weren’t for that pesky underlying vinyl smell. When I first poured it, I thought maybe I had an oxidized bottle, but after reading other reviews, I guess this is somewhat normal. Very fruity and sweet in the mouth with dark fruit, a hint of chocolate and a slight alcohol bite. Flat as anything in the mouth. Finishes with a small dry and astringent bite. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Bottle. Pours translucent brown with diminishing head. Aroma of maple syrup and balsamic vinegar! Weird aroma. Very light carbonation. Flavor of carmelized sugar, dark fruits, and maple. Syrupy like finish. This one is hard to catagorize. But I found this one fun and challenging to classify and rate. mephisto (1144), Taiwan
