Flavor is again quite sweet, with some tartness at the end. Caramel, raisins and apples stand out. I didn’t even know what style this was when I drank it, and wouldn’t have said BSA, but I like it. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Bottle: Brown color with a ruby tint to the body, small white head. Aroma is almost like a baltic porter combined with a lambic. There’s notes of apple, pear, crabapple, sour peach, raisins, toffee, carrot, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, cherries. Medium bodied, oily-slick, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet and sour chocolate & cherries at first, then followed up by sour yeast, candi sugar, raisins, tart wheat, molasses, pepper, leather, and mild hops. Finishes with hints of cardboard, vinous grapes, sour plum, bitter chocolate, alcohol. Yuhasz (23), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2005 While reading the commercial description, you think they just threw together everything they had randomly. However, It is a perfect blend of English, Belgian, and German Beers. The matly aroma is quite noticable. Keep warned it is 8.2%. I got this at D’s 6 Pack and Dogs. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2005 aroma is malty, with a little fruitiness. thick, rich mouthfeel, with plenty of malty complexity (nuts? figs?) and a little booze too (the 8.2% isn’t hidden that well). Maybe a little too sweet, but pretty good and certainly an interesting style. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 23, 2005 Updated: Sep 20, 20052004 bottle. Ruddy brown pour, darker, muted greyish-tan clay tones with a fizzy beige head, mostly disipating. Mostly clear body, with a touch of sediment at the bottom. Aroma of alcohol, dark candi sugar, some dusty/musty yeast and straw. Notes of raisins and toffee are light but also discernable. Flavor begins with a lightly sour yeast mixed with candi sugar, raisins, wheat and light hops. The body is a bit thin overall, or thinner than I would like, anyways. Light alcohol notes on the palate, dark fruit notes and a slightly sharp/sour finish of yeast, alcohol and sugar. Fizzy, bubbly carbonation does not die off very quickly. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Bottle. Pours out a hazy brown color. Minimal off-white head. Mild lacing. Very fruity aroma, full of dates raisin and figs. Medium bodied and smooth. Very rich flavor full of the dark fruits. Quite nice! Thanks Lou. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2005 Bottle from lmgraz1, pours a cloudy dark brown, lots of sediment from this bottle-conditioned brew. Smells sweet, can definitely get the malts and wheat, but also maybe some apple or apricot as well. Taste is a little bit odd, the malts and yeast come through rather strong, and the sweetness comes in at the end. I would bet this stuff is great if you cellar it for a little while. If this is any indication of what Heavyweight has to offer, it is probably a good thing that they didn’t open until after I graduated from college 5 minutes from the brewery.
