Commercial Description:
Baltus, a hybrid style, is a top-fermented beer made with English floor malts, malted wheat and noble hops. A classic European yeast strain with a subtle yet discernable estery profile is employed. A warmer fermentation, followed by a period of cold conditioning serves to develop and refine this complex beer.

12oz gem thanks to kp. Upon opening there was a small "pfft" as the cap came off. Served into my Duvel tulip glass. Pour is a deep amber/ruby with no head at all. Aroma consists of sweet fruits, booze, cherries, and burnt sugar. Flavor is extremely mellow and smooth. Sweet cherry, candy, and caramel are all present. Very enjoyable brew. I’m glad i got to try this one.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of beerbill. Thanks! Pours a deep hazy red color with a thin creamy head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma is candi sugar, brown sugar, toffee, subtle fruity notes and alcohol. Taste is yeast, brown sugar, candi sugar and some cheesy notes. Subtle warming effect. Full bodied. Very nice.

Unclear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, vintage, prune, cask wood, moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. (220808)

Bottle, i must have got the most infected bottle of all time. This ruby brown bottle was gushing when opened by the bartender at eulogy. Aroma is salt, oxidization, wet paper, and funk. Flavor, i cant even tell you 2 sips before i had to drain pour dam i was excited about this one too, anyone got a good bottle to share? seriously had consistency of almost ready jello.

Courtesy SoLan. Caramel color with a thin, sparse off-white head. Mild sweet dark fruit on the aroma, some grain. General sweetness on the taste, dark fruits again, but not much of a Belgian character to it really. Pretty basic.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a very cloudy reddish with a small rough off-white head. Aroma has overripe fruits and some alcohol. Medium-bodied, sweetish overripe fruitiness and some oxidization. A little low in carbonation. Has a light underlying acidity. 220808

Bottle, shared by papsoe. It pours a hazy brown body under a quite small beige head. The beer is probably past it’s prime, but still in good condition, even though there’s evident oxidation in both aroma and flavor. It has a malty, roasted aroma and flavor with dried fruits and caramel. A little sourish touch towards the finish, which is malty and caramel tasting. Full to medium body and pleasant level of carbonation. A nice beer that is hard to categorize. (080822)

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with a bubbly tan head. Dense fruity and roasted malt. Loads dense fruity aromas. Fruity and dense caramel malty flavour with a lingering malty profile and a dense fruity base. Solid sweet and mild oxidised. Nice caramel and chocolate malty finish. Smooth and pleasant.
