750, capped. Thanks, Sprinkle! Can’t thank you enough for this gem. Many nerds drank deeply and with great satisfaction from this generous shipment by you. Beautiful gemmy ruby and amber blend of colors. Slim rim of white foamy film. Laceless. Little dark clouds knocking around on the swirl. Light side of medium body with very soft carb. Toffee and butterscotch rolling around the mid-palate. Clean soft finish. Amazing stuff.

mesa gathering. 2005 bottle. pours an ugly muddy brown with yellow tints with a thin whitish head. aromas of brown sugar, molasses, wet pipe tobacco and booze. flavor is supertastically(i just made that up) malty and definitely woody with tobacco bitterness, golden raisins, caramel, vanilla and bourbon heat. finishes with some bitterness...hops/wood/alcohol...i can’t tell. medium bodied but quite rich from the sugar level. a bit over the top on the sweetness but a pleasure to try...thanks guys.

bottle (2005)....rating #200. thanks to Holdenn for this very nice contribution to the tasting....appearance: dark reddish brown with a thin white head....aroma: dark fruit, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla with some oxidation in the nose. very little to no bourbon at all....taste: brown sugar, vanilla, light on the bourbon with a thin body. a tad too sweet overall but still had many redeeming qualities nonetheless.

Rating #800 2005 vintage 750ml bottle. Thanks to dickinsonbeer for this trade a long time ago. Pours a clear red amber with a beige head. Oaked, vanilla, carmelized, candied fruit, a touch of smoke and vegetables from a little bit of oxidation in the aroma. Sweet flavors. Caramelized, vanila, lots of fruit: dried, red, and dark, tobacco, toffee, oak and candied sugars, Tasty and sweet. I’m pretty sure this one set me over the top. Thanks so much to dicksonbeer for this quality brew!

sampled at "An Evening with Pantanap #1": thanks to holdenn for bringing this. 2005 vintage, 750ml bottle. pours dense ruby with off white head. nose of baker’s chocolate, tobacco, and caramel. flavor is sweet vanilla. tobacco, caramel, cotton candy, nutty, some baker’s chocolate. really sweet stuff. alcohol is well hidden. body a tad thin. tasty stuff but where’s the bourbon character to it?

Big thanks to Padrefan98. I’m always weary of all the barrel aging, however this was enhanced and not deminished by being barrel aged. Pours dark brown with almost no bubbles or head. Aroma sweet malt, dark fruit, and caramel. Taste of much the same. This was very nice indeed.

Knocked back a couple of these in my days. Thick and rich, one of my all time favs. The Barrel Aging doesn’t take away from this. I have a had them with 2 different labels. Heavy and syrupy, this is a treat.

2005. Dark brown/amber. Thin, short lived layer of tan foam. Aroma of sweet caramel/toffee, old wood, slight oxidation, fresh and dried dark fruits, light dose of roasted malt. Flavor adds some lightly smokey char, vanilla biscuits, lower oxidation presence. Body is medium to medium/full, a little light and lacking in carbonation. Other than the palate, very good barleywine.
