pours a nice dark amber brownish color... with no head to speak of. smells malty some fruit almost berries slight alcohol probably the bourbon. tastes amazing, it is thick sweet and malty, and some sour wine-esque flavors (oaky?) finishing with a strong flavor of bourbon and coats the back of my throat with a warming sensation. Very complex, and very very enjoyable. great brew. cheers pops!

Thanks Blake, I’ve been itchin to try this one. Dark borwn color, white head. Aroma is sweet, full of dark fruit. Drinking this is syrupy sweet, with the bourbon barrel fighting the dark malts for the feature.

(2004 Vintage) Aroma a little weaker that expected. Sweet caramel, slight oaky tartness and a little bit of cheese. Thi head with low carbonation. The aroma intensifies and becomes amazing as the brew warms. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Little oaky sourness. Lots of caramel and toffee. Nice alcohol warming. Some fruit in the flavor with some honey and oranges. Long creamy finish that is very warming. Great stuff!

Bottle shared with puzzl. Pours an amber brown color with a small light tan head. Incredibly fruity barley wine... aromas and flavors of figs, raisins, cherries, apples. Woody oak accents really add a lot of complexity to the beer. Incredibly soft on the palatte at 11%. Is niiiice.

750. Interesting beer. Bourbony aroma, sweet, odd. Slighty vegetables, ... don’t really know what to say about this. Very fruity in the taste, slight bourbon, kinda of hot... extremely unusual. Maybe almost even a molé sauce or other mexican dish. Who knows. Not my favorite.

Bottled at the Milwaukee YeHA courtesy of 1FastSTi! Poured a clear, deep ruddy brown with a short layer of off-white head. The aroma really opened up with time and warmth... became huge with smoked wood, pulled caramel, sweet, drier bourbon... soft, enticing, and very complex. The flavor was quite heavy with sweet caramel, toffee, herbal bitterness, and a mild complimentary bourbon presence.. bit of dark fruit emerged late. A bit grainy on the palate, but it felt really good.. heavy, warm finish. Thanks to Blake for this wonderful and complex brew!

Milwaukee YeHA! 2006

Thanks to Blake (1FastSti) for the suprise in the middle of the tasting. I was not expecting to see this ever again after the demise of Heavyweight a year or two ago. The bottle itself is pretty fun. I should have asked to keep it - I doubt it will resurface any time soon. I would not recommend paying more than $15 for it but if you do run across it for that price buy it all up.

Aroma / Appearance - Cherry, oak and caramel greeted my nose and were followed by a sweet malty aroma. The body was a dark caramel with a hazy yellow ring around the corner and no head.

Flavor / Palate - A bitter oaky mouthfeel is soon succeeded by a smooth caramel taste. The alcohol is obvious but not overpowering as it comes to the fore towards the end of the sip. The finish then becomes sweet with just a trace amount of bitterness. The sample was almost gone before I knew it as it was very enjoyable.
