| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Sample from a 750 ml bottle (2005) provided by Shaun Hill, at American Flatbread in Burlington. Poured dark, cloudy amber with lots of head, well-retained....strongly vinous nose seems to have more than a hint of brett, or at least sour-cherry notes reminiscent of brett, a bit odd but not unpleasant; as it warms, candylike maple-vanilla emerges from the bourbon aging.....caramelly and lightly smoky-bitter to the tongue, moderate alcohol apparency and lots of spiciness, interesting bready-grainy character around midpalate heavily soaked in booze....lovely balance, highly drinkable despite it’s size, very low (but just enough) carbonation. Really glad I got a chance to try this, thanks Shaun! Marsiblursi (1650), Göteborg, Sweden
