Aroma has bits of cardboard and sherry, some hops, residual sugar, alcohol, and caramel. Nice!
Taste is sweet, slightly bitter (faded hops), some caramel, piny, and floral.
Finish is slightly dry alcohol and hop bite, but is actually full and sticky.
Very nice.

Notes on this one are sparse, so let’s see what I remember. This was damn good, I think; better than the Heavyweight Wee Heavy we shared recently. Huge foamy off white head atop a dark amber pour. Prickly palate because of the overcarbonation and some slight oxidation, but nice earthy malty notes. Not overly barrel-tasting. Good fruit notes and caramel. Slight vanilla notes. Quite good. Boy, this has held up considerably better than some other Heavyweights! A big body with huge carbonation, this beer has the earthy grit and grain that I love from this brewery, combined with the depth of flavor one wants from an English style BW. Barrel is there oh so subtly, merging well with fruity malts and caramel flavors. Slight tartness in there gives it a true caramel apple character. A delight. ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Other than some slight oxidation & over carbonation this beer is holding up extremely well. Dark amber pour with a thin tan head. Oak, caramel, and light earthiness on the nose. It has aged very well and you get a huge amount of malt coming through with a very mellow taste of bourbon which ended up going down very smooth. A little oxidation but every bottle is different so you never know what you will get. BuckeyeBoy (1672), Boise, Idaho, USA
