Dark dense brown pour with a beige, light tan head and no lacing. Smell is earthy and sweet malt with a touch of alcohol. Flavor is a bit too sweet and boozy for me but I can see where it is going. Flavor has some tree bark-like aspects in there which are an interesting match to the high sweetness. Overall, pretty good. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pour is rich, brownish with a medium lived tan head. Smell is mild and aged, slightly vegetal and bright malt. Taste is sweet, sharp vanilla and fruity. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly sweet, and pretty tasty. Nice stuff. BlackForestCO (827), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a murky brown color with a thin beige head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of fruit (green apple, light citrus, some plum and raisin) and some sweet malt. Light, moderately dry oak entry leads into a sweet, fruity (apple, plum, grape, light fig) hit with some sweet malt that lead into a smooth, lightly bitter finish. Smooth on the palate with some biting carbonation and dryness from the oak. Very nice, thanks to who brought this. AgentSteve (1375), SF Bay Area, California, USA

Deep ruddy brown pour with slight bourbon nose. Flavor is complex and intriguing, with sweet malts and vanilla. Smooth on the palate. DicksMcGee (54), Seattle, Washington, USA

Tastes very sweet, some oakiness and vanilla, not boozy at all. Also got some cantaloupe in this one. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

No matter what I bring to a tasting he seems to always outclass me and bring something amazing like this gem. Thanks joey! Ruby pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is very sweet malts and candy sugar. Flavor was also really sweet caramel, brandy, sherry, smoke, brown sugar. Again, almost cloyingly sweet finish. Definitely a sipper, but I could sip for quite awhile. GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Burgundy-brown colour with no head. Sweet aroma with notes of wood, vanilla and sour cherry, with some faint lactic notes as well. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour is quite nice - very sweet to start, with brown sugar, orange, wood, spice, smokes, hops and more - wow, this is good! Thanks for sharing Paul! Exceptionally smooth with no apparent alcohol but flavor on the thin side. Taste much like the nose; caramel and oak with slight hop drying.
