Commercial Description:
A biere de garde or farmhouse beer. It's brewed exclusively with French pale malt and German hops. A long boil develops a deep amber color and malty complexity. A small amount of black pepper in the boil contributes a subtle spiciness. The beer is fermented with a wonderful monastic lager yeast and the finished beer is bottled-conditioned and packaged in 750 ml. corked bottles. The bottle wears a label of beaux art. It features an image of an abstract painting by Canadian artist: Christine Haley.

750 ml bottle. Pale amber colour with a hint of copper highlights. Aroma is deeply malty. Well-caramelized with bread crust, rich brown sugar, sweet spicy hops and peachy fruit. Some cinnamon and apple as well. Earthy and spicy noble-type hops. Flavour is rich and sweet with heavily caramelized malt in abundance. Long earthy/dusty finish mingling with a sweet peach/pear fruitiness. Subtle yeasty spice with leafy tobacco hop flavour. Very soft creamy texture letting the sweet malt and dry finish dance all over the palate. Awesome brew... I’ll be stocking up.

Very good beer shared by nolankowal. Aroma was sweet, with some yeast scents coming through. The appearance was golden brown. Taste was yeasty, slightly sweet, and nice. Nice even mouthfeel.

Hazy orange pour with a white head with some floating sediment. The aroma was of sweet malt, honey, bread, and yeast. Flavor was ready as well with both the honey and yeast coming through. Medium body with a dry finish.

Peppery and spicy. Clove and cinnamon, but minimally. Peach. Possibly even some hops. Yeah, definitely a little hop bitterness. A little strawberry hard candy. Tobacco, leather. Very peppery. Very nice Biere de Garde.

Bottle: Shared by nolankowal: Some floaties, orange color with a white head. Bottle gushed a little bit. Aroma, yeasty with some sourness, maybe a little mint. Flavor, pale malts, yeast, floral notes, and a bit of a honey sweetness on the finish.

Pours brown with thick head. Nice malty aroma with some nuts and fruit. Body is a bit light due to the lively bubbles, yet still coating. Finish is sweet and sticky.

A cloudy golden pour with an aroma of yeast and light fruit. A stale fruit flavor with a nice tart bitterish flavor. A good mouthfeel just slightly over fizzy for me. A nice beer all round. Thanks to somebody at kps
