Commercial Description:
A biere de garde or farmhouse beer. It's brewed exclusively with French pale malt and German hops. A long boil develops a deep amber color and malty complexity. A small amount of black pepper in the boil contributes a subtle spiciness. The beer is fermented with a wonderful monastic lager yeast and the finished beer is bottled-conditioned and packaged in 750 ml. corked bottles. The bottle wears a label of beaux art. It features an image of an abstract painting by Canadian artist: Christine Haley.

750ml bottle. Orange/amber color with fluffy white head, highly carbonated, and lots of sediment. Nose of citrus, grass, sweetish caramel malt, grassy hops, and some tangy, yeasty funk. Flavor pretty well follows, though as the beer warms, a grapefruit hop flavor emerges and becomes prominent-- an interesting surprise. Very nice carbonation and creamy, full mouthfeel. I had never bought this because of the non-descript label (what the hell is art beer?) and am now kicking myself. I really enjoyed this one, great stuff!

750 ml bottle shared by jerc. Cloudy golden colour with a fizzy and frothy off-white head. Caramel, yeasty (cobweb, dusty) fruity, and orange aroma. Caramel, orange, citrus peel, dusty, and alcohol flavours. Light bodied, effervescent mouthfeel - fizzy but refreshing. Good stuff.

Bottle. Hazy amber brown with a big creamy white head. Yeasty, sweet aroma with toasty malt and moderate caramel notes. Dry yet sweet flavour, with a light caraeml and dried fruit. Toasted malt, moderate bitterness combines with alcohol to offset sweetness. Alcohol dries out the mouth in the aftertaste leaving a lingering mouthwash like character that is distracting but not unpleasant. Medium palate is quite effervescent. Enjoyable but not mind blowing. Thanks for the trade Probiere.

750ml bottle. Deep golden color with a thin-medium head that disippated quickly. Keeps it carbonation nicely without letting it overpower the beer. Good balance between sweet and bitter, malt and hops. Almost seems too light to be a 7.7 ABV. The bitterness sticks with ya, but it’s a good bitterness. I like farmhouse style ales and I enjoy this a lot. May have to bring one home instead of just drinking it on the job ;)

Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells fruity with some dough and barnyard qualities. Taste is fruity with some sugar notes present. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Alcohol is well masked making it dangerously drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of cornboy pours orangish-yellow with a huge white head. Orange peel and vanilla in the nose. Great peppery finish to this beer.

Medium gold color. Small head. Aroma is fruity, funky and yeasty. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet. Bright yeasts. Funky and musty. Lots of coriander and apricot flavors. Nice balance. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clan and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet and tart.
