Pours a hazy straw golden hue with an acitve, fizzy, frothy white head that mostly stays throughout. Some thick lacing throughout. Yeast (oak barrel, cobwebs, cellar) and light malt (straw, hay) aromas with fruit (lemon, grape) notes. A most pleasant aroma that is inviting. Buttery yeast and light malt flavor, lightly acidic body with a creamy bitter hop finish. Medium bodied creamy and yet fizzy, spicy palate. Wonderful paired with a spicy food dish such as Curried Pumpkin Soup. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Poured a cloudy dark orange and gold with a thin white head. The taste had oranges, flowers, funky Colby cheese and alcohol. This all blended well for sounding like strange smells. It kept things interesting. The taste had mango or some other tropical fruit along with apples and light spicy cinnamon. There was also some black pepper and oak. The lightly carbonated mouthfeel made this seem like a great beer for dinner. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Aroma of floral hops, pear, grass, hay and earthiness. Flavor has notes of caramel, apple, grapefruit/citrus, pepper, plenty of malty sweetness nicely balanced by an abundance of noble hops. Plesantly bitter finish. Full body with a smooth and creamy texture; lively carbonation. Great head retention. I really liked this one. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Pours a cloudy amber with somewhat attractive head. Nose first seemed like bananna bread, delicous, then swayed into a blend of pepper, grainy, light fruit, and another spice I cant quite pinpoint. Flavor is bursting at the seems, not great, but tons of flavors, more than your average brew, even these expensive ones. Goes down quite smooth.
