| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2005 So cloudy that it’s opaque; and orange brown in color. Some heavy Belgian aroma tendencies, accentuated with spruce, ginger, figs, lemons and sourdough. Souring flavor. Traces of orange crème and pistachios. Lemon drops. Paling and sour, although a respectable beer. Thanks for the east coast connection, tpkenned! MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

I can’t think of a better beer to drink on the 4th of July in 90 degree temperatures. Mild yeast aroma with touches of spice and a bit of funk. Flavor is lightly sweet at first followed by a light spiciness and pepper. Moderately carbonated. A very nice drink. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 26, 2005 At the 2005 Garden State Brewfest. Perhaps the best beer I had all day there. I have been holding off getting it for a while, but now I will have to buy a bottle and keep it for a while. Amazing beer. Nice sweetness, but not overly so. Great balance of everything. Impressed I was. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Hazy amber/copper coloured body with an insanely tall off-white head. This beer bubbled immediately from the bottle-too much yeast, sugars and secondary fermentation. Aroma of yeast, honey, malt, coriander seed and curacao. Medium-bodied; Spicey malt flavour with coriander seed. Aftertaste shows malt, alcohol and a bit of spice. Overall, decent-not showing enough character & too much carbonation. Good to try from a neat store! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Village Pump Liquors in College Park, Maryland on 30-January-2005. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2005 750 mL capped bottle, fairly fresh: Enormous, medium bubbled, shinny ivory Styrofoam-like head that reseeds into a modest cream. Pale malt and peppery aroma spiced with anise, all spice, cough medicine and rose petals. Delicate, slightly fizzy palate with lightly bitter mangos, effervescent orange rinds, lemon zest, and peppery yeast. Buttery & mouthwatering texture that allows the yeast to tingle the tongue and the peppery anise spiciness tickle the senses. A subtle bit of papaya and spiced wine even out the complex flavours and barnyard funk. Outstanding & fabulous – a trip back in time. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2005 Poured light golden with a creamy white head. The aroma had fruit and white wine. The main fruit was citrus. The flavor was very pleasant and perhaps stronger than other Biere de Gardes. Quite pleasing overall. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
