Commercial Description:
A biere de garde or farmhouse beer. It's brewed exclusively with French pale malt and German hops. A long boil develops a deep amber color and malty complexity. A small amount of black pepper in the boil contributes a subtle spiciness. The beer is fermented with a wonderful monastic lager yeast and the finished beer is bottled-conditioned and packaged in 750 ml. corked bottles. The bottle wears a label of beaux art. It features an image of an abstract painting by Canadian artist: Christine Haley.

Fort Wayne Mead Tasting. This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of foamy frothy light white colored bubbles of fine to medium size. The body was opaque and dark brown in color with no visible carbonation. The aroma was malty and very nice with a mild toffee note. The mouth feel was initially tingly with a brown malty flavor that lingered into the finish.

Bottle pours caramel, thick haze, large white foamy head, with nice lacing.   Sweet bready aroma, slightly floral, minor caramel.   Taste is yeasty, semi-sweet, minor hop bitterness.   Slight black pepper tingling at the back of the throat.   Great body, nice mouthfeel.   Long finish, lingering hops and light pepper, with some floral/bready notes.   Fairly tasty!   Thanks goes out to Eyedrinkale for the trade!

750ml Capped NOT CORKEDCloudy orange with a huge billowy head that retains well. Pears and sweet nectar in the aroma as well as dough, yeast and peppery spices, marshmallow?? Medium bodied and fully carbonated. Flavor is sweet and honey like with lots of fruitiness and a little spicy. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall a very enjoyable and drinkable ale.

Murky yellow orange color out of the bottle (which may be becuase of theDM’s pour) with a big off white head. Spicey nose of yeast and orange. Pear, apricot and apple fruitiness with some coriander/peppery spice. Lively crisp carbonation. Very nice beer. Thanks to willblake for the bottle.

Fort Wayne Mead Tasting, thanks to jsquire for the chance to sample this one. Cider looking body with a fast diminishing white head. Appley pear aroma and other fruits i think. A somewhat bittersweet taste. The apples were there, but I got some chalkiness to it too. Kinda strange. Good none the less though.

Small offwhite head that wont quit, decent lacing, of course after opening the bottle the head started its slow creep out of the vessel. Hazy amber color. Malty, spicey, yeasty nose. Medium body. Medium sweet malt flavors, nutty, spicey. I,m lost, been over an hour now. Dry finish. Lightly roasty, malty, fruity. Once the carbonation dies down you got a good brew on yer hands.
