Fruity, with honey tones, lightly toasted malt and some yeasty musk. Subtle phenolic pepper notes come through in the flavor to add an interesting flair. Medium sweet with some light bitterness to even it out. Velvety mouthfeel. An interesting beer but not exceptional.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2004 Although the bottle didn’t explode, it sure foamed unitl every last drop was out of the bottle. Hazy orange color with a gargantuan head. Very high yeast aroma. The taste was... nothing. Slight fruits and spice, but really very little taste. Quite carbonated. Maybe it was a bad bottle. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2004 Tap. Hazy orange-amber, clear around the bottom of the glass. Smells of vanilla, oranges, sweetness. The flavor, however, is a bit of a let-down as it lacks the punch that I was expecting from this style. All the nice aromas just disappear as the flavor goes on. Still smooth and pretty decent. Incidently, this is my first beer from New Jersey. I enjoyed this beer more as it warmed up. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 24, 2004 I’d been cellaring this bottle for awhile, but I recently noticed that the cap was bulging up - thought I’d better open it now (in the sink, just in case!). Opened with a loud hiss, but luckily didn’t explode. Poured with a huge head - half the glass on the first pour. Cloudy orange gold body, realy great lacing that covered the whole glass and then broke apart into spider webs. Aroma was farmers fields, flowers, fruits and nuts. Palate is mostly smooth, some extra carbonation at points (definitely well carbonated though - belch city). Sweet malts with hints of floral perfume, finish is lightly sweet and sticky with spices and some hops. Very well done. Fluffy body, highly carbonated, well-rounded. Light aroma, very dry, grassy and almost smoky mysteriously. Spicy palate, dry, champaigny. Not as flavorfull as anticipated. Lots of candi sugar, sage-spice bitter finish with thyme notes. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 9, 2004 Very nice representation of the style, and that is pretty rare by American breweries. They got this one right. A bit on the sweet side, but that was ok, because there was still plenty of grassy notes and yeasty qualities. amx1970390 (466), Southampton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Aug 5, 2004 Way heavy on the carbonation. Large bubbly head. Opaque orange-brown in color, like apple cider. You can definately smell the pepper in the aroma. Very harsh on the tounge when sipped. Definately not a smooth, soft brew. This overpowers the senses and it is hard to really get a good taste of the beer.
