Good yellow flecked off-white head and very hazy. Aroma has plenty of light raspberries in it, a huge dose of yeast and some drier malt. Flavor immediately is moderately astringent stemming from a dry fruit flavor (blueberries, raspberries, cherries). The yeast makes a big appearance and as the beer begins to finish, a candi-like sugar flavor makes an entrance. Very interesting beer. It starts out dry and waxes sweet. Very yeasty, doughy finish. Body is only medium, touch of wateriness. Some earthy/root-like spiciness in there as well. Bizarre, it certainly is. Take away the overly astringent flavors and I'd be sold. Small whitish head. Starts real sweet, with big underlying malt flavor. Caramel/toffe-ish, dark fruit, fig, plum, chocolate covered cherry. Medium to full bodied, finising with a yeasty whack, and a wallop of alcohol. Alcohol is real evident, but this is still a very well made, terribly drinkable brew. Tom is da man!
