| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Bottle. Nice nose - dark chocolate liquor and hazelnut. The mouthfeel is a bit of a disappointment - thin and fizzy. Otherwise it tastes good - dark, bitter chocolate, red berry, JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Dark reddish brown body. Creamy off-white head.
Chocolatey crackers, dry porter-like malts, thin coffee, kind of nice.
Dry soury, minty taste. Well-blended roasty malts and dry hops. Pretty good. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2006 Bottle found @ Foodery. Nice dark, blackish pour with decent sized bubbly head. Light roasted aroma. Taste is pretty thin, but tasty with light roasted malts. A bit of a metallic taste too. Not offensive, just not that great. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 14, 2006 Dark brown with a thick tan head. Smelled like chocolate, licorice and caramel. Taste had currant added to what I mentioned in the aroma. Full palate with a good deal of chocolate and toffee. Good job with this Schwarzbier. You can find this in limited quantities at Spuyten. alobar (1020), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2006 Bottle from eyedrinkale. Thanks Mike. It was in a different bottle. Poured a very dark brew with very little head. Nose was very much of roasted malts and some smokiness. Was a little thin on the palate but still a brew that was nice to get my hands on. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 11, 2006 25 oz bottle. Pours a clear mahogany brown colored body under a small fizzy light brown head that faded to a thin film quickly. Aroma is just loaded with diacetyl from top to bottom. Sorta like a mix of chocolate and popcorn. A little roast peaks through as well, but not much. The flavor is thin with a touch of light acetic tinge late in the finish with the butter. There is a Schwartzbier buried under there somewhere, I can taste the chocolate malts, light roast, and slight hints of smoke and huskiness that stand out for the style to me, but it plays second fiddle to the flaws that are much more apparent. The mouthfeel is light bodied and somewhat thin with a very active fizzy carbonation level. Overall, this was just off in a bad way. I really can’t stand this high of an amount of diacetyl.
