Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, cherry, some smoke. Taste is medium sweet -- starts roasty, then a shot of sour cherry gets in there before a smoky chocolate asserts itself. Full body, creamy, light carbonated. Yummy and different. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Black, opaque, honest tan head. Aroma of sweets, butterscotch, coffee, caramel: very malty of course. Hops are rather subdued all the way through which makes it rather sweet altogether despite a firm roastiness, black chocolate reminiscent. Lightly lactic in a buttery kind of way (diacetyl although not unpleasant). Develops nice coffee flavors. Thick sludge-like body, low carbonation. Lovely mouthfeel. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2004 Pours a thick opaque black with a thin, but dense tan head. Lots of sweet caramel malt and toffee in the aroma wiht some milk chocolate and dark fruits. Starts rich, sweet, and viscous turning more roasty toward the finish. Goes down with a warming feeling, but has nice flavor otherwise. The malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness could meld together a little better, but overall this is a fine imperial stout. Thanks to willblake for this brew! hopscotch (5485), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Thick, black ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention and creamy lacing. The aroma is of smoke, leather and chocolate with notes of blackstrap molasses. The flavor is chocolatey and smokey with big notes of espresso and burnt hickory. A tad salty. Full-bodied with a silky and then oily mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Lengthy, burnt finish! Great effort from Heavyweight! A world class creation! MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 20, 2004 Bottled: Brown/black coloured. Chocolate brown head. Medium sized and lasting. Sweet, buttery and roasty aroma. Hops, liqourice, alcahol and some sweetness in the flavour. The liqourice last into the end, where a heavy bitterness is fighting to get some room. Nice beer. Thanks egajdzis for sending this beer.
