Commercial Description:
Dean Browne stopped by and brought some brown and peated malts with him to make his dark mild. Lighter in gravity than the first but dark and roasty and more complex than the Ordinary. BTW, Dean also makes great wine. 3.1% ABV Brewed: July 8 Racked: July 22

Draft at Heavyweight Open House. Thin dense foam head that reduces quickly. Slight sour tart aroma. Bit of fruit and roasted malts. Dark reddish brown in color. Dry and tart flavor with a harsh bitterness. Plenty of roasted malts for body. Little bit of spices and a bit of coffee in the flavor. Finishes dry and chalky. Decent.

08.06.05 Hand pump at Heavyweight open house. My first sampling of one of Tom’s mild series. Pale and rather thin looking brown pour with lingering tan foam. Aroma and flavors are subtle, but it has definite notes of roasted and peaty malt, toasted nuts, bakers cocoa, and an ever so slight acid bite. Refreshing quaff, light and yet satisfying. Better than I expected.

Draft... Poured an amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, caramel malts, and some roastiness as well. Taste of caramel malts, nuts, roast, plums, and chocolate, with low bitterness in the finish.

Draft… Extremely dark. Clear and burnt orange when held up to bright light. Small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma and flavor are lightly chocolatey. Perfectly balanced. Light-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. Finishes very clean. Refreshing!
