Poured from the bottle the color of unfiltered spiced apple cider. Aroma was sweet with a touch of cinnamon and a whole lot of decaying cherries. Very light body with sugar clinging to the sides of the glass. Flavor followed the aroma very tart with a bitter aftertase in the finish. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Thanks to Immy! Pours a murky brown with no head. Sugars can be seen clinging to the side of the glass. Nose is tempting with cherries dominating, but also cinnamon and a sourness. Reading the description, that’s what it tastes like. Brown and YUP!, sour cherries. Makes your mouth pucker it’s so sour. Not well integrated either. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 3, 2006 Pour is hazy reddish amber with a thin tan head and it was quite tight bubbled...smell is sour cherry, funk, yeast...taste is sour, cherry and oaky...finish is a little chemical seeming, but delicious...I’m glad I have one more... | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Delicious! I thought this was a barrel aged brown ale, but now that I know it has the cherries in it, I know why I liked it so much. Very hazy, light chestnut color. Bold, sour aroma, with notes of milk, cheese in the flavor. Sour but not unsmooth, and it leaves an interesting finish. Very drinkable. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Bottle. Nose-butter, bretty, sweet cream ice cream. Like Cuvee de Tomme but a little thinner. Some slight sour chocolate covered cherry notes. Slightly tannic with a well placed sour edge. Light sour thinness that lingers. Pailhead (2593), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Bottle: Courtesy of Eyedrinkale via trade. Lots of bubblegum in the aroma with some tart cherries as well and a hint of woodiness. Pours a cloudy orangish-brown with a small off-white head. Like the aroma, I’m getting bubble gum in the flavor. There’s a mild tart cherry character with lots of woodiness in the finish. Nice, but I like more agressive sournness/tartness in a Flemish Sour. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2006 Pours a purple brown light tan head that quickly turns into a film. Aromas are Bubble gum oak and ripe cherries Flavor is bittter to a dry finish with notes of plum, michigan cherries in july and red grapes. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Hazy, red-mahogany body with low carbonation. Aroma of overripe cherries, bretty leather and sweat, light acetic acid, and dry oak. Flavor of subtle, medium tart cherries, leather, and abundant dry wood. Very drying actually, like licking on a fresh board. Begs to be a little more sour and the body seems a bit dried out. Overall, this is a good, mostly clean and adventurous American wild beer.
