Whoever you are, message me, so I can thank you. Poured a murky reddish brown with a little tan lace. Nose is sour cherries, light brown sugary bourbon sweetness. Flavor features a strong, and tart cherry taste with a bourbony, sweet, and slightly funky and woody finish. An interesting brew that reminded me of the more recent New Galrus Unplugged Quadruppel. I liked this one more. kmweaver (2474), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2007 750mL bottle, courtesy of some fine soul at BCTC. Pours a hazy, ruby-red color; light tan head with patchy lacing. Tart cherries and brown sugar in the aroma. Dense, tart cherries and brown sugar upfront, evening out to a chewy, complex malt and fruit character. Similar profile to a Flemish sour (I didn’t know it was one at the time). Medium, dry cherry and tart citrus finish. puzzl (2635), New York, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Late 2005 bottle from Spuytin Duyvil. Light, small, cheese aroma. When swirling it gets a powerful bit of brussel sprouts, which is absolutely disgusting. Thankfully I wasn’t being forced to swirl it. The pour is quite pretty, though, a rich ruby brown, semi-clear and wonderfully toned, though with zero head. Very herby flavor, slightly tart, lacking in much character at all. Cherries -- though slightly present in the nose -- are almost completely lacking from the flavor. Couldn’t at all finish my glass, this was actually quite gross. dmac (1489), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2007 750 ml bottle shared with dickinsonbeer and willblake at Spuyten. Poured a dark reddish/brown with just a slight bit of light brown head that quickly faded. Aroma was lots of sourness, some wood, cherries and a little chocolate. Flavor was chocolate covered cherries with some sour funkiness but not nearly as sour as some of the other palate killers I sipped on that day. kkearn (1010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2007 My cousin (ggaughan) cracked this open tonight while we were watching the Phillies game. I’ve wanted to try this for a while. Chestnut color, with very little carbonation. Wild, sour, barnyard aroma with sour cherry. I smelled this beer for an excessively long time before taking the first sip. this was probably ther most beautiful aroma I’ve ever encountered in a beer. First sip was very smooth, with almost no carbonation. Smooth, brown ale flavor that was very smooth around the edges; malty with wood and sour cherry. Very tasty, but it did not live up to the impressive aroma. I did not have the opportunity to try this beer fresh, but i’m glad i got to try it before its all gone. Thanks for sharing, Greg! PS- if anyone has any bottles left; i’d love to trade. shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Courtesy dickinsonbeer. Amber/ruby with just a few bubbles on top. Vinous nose of oaked vinegared sour cherries. Same flavor with some tannins. Dry, tart finish. Balanced, medium palate. Very nice, mellow sour. Ungstrup (15341), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Bottled. A slightly hazy deep red beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is very special with a mixture of cinnamon, violet, cloves, berries, and alcohol. The flavor is slightly acidic with strong notes of berries and spices as well as lighter notes of alcohol, wood, and metal. The acidity is very bret like.
