Commercial Description:
Leftovers ... We aged some Chuck (sort of a brown-bretty) in wooden barrels with sour cherries for six months. It emerged with a somewhat subdued brett presence but tastes more like a flemish sour. 6.4% abv. (33 cases in 750ml)

Reddish brown pour, slowly fading cream colored head. No lacing whatsoever. Aroma has a sourness akin to Echte Kriekenbier. Lighter notes than an average actual Flemish sour brown of apple skins, cherries, brettanomyces, vinegar, yeast. I think the six months of barrel aging was a little excessive for this beer, quite thin palate, but a well rounded tartness. Flavor is big apple juice, funk, a light nutrasweet sugariness, vanilla extract, sour cherries and sugary esters. The sourness is soft but lingering, developing into a lackluster finish. Also leaves a vegetal character behind, a la zucchini. Another Heavyweight original, pretty decent.

To start with, Flemish Sours are not my thing, but I wanted to give this one a chance. Nice looking dark red with a sour aroma of cherries, and other dark/sweet flavors. Taste was a bit too unbalanced and sour. It was very nice to try, but not my thing.

Courtesy of SoLan. Thanks Alan for sharing this with myself and boboski. The aroma is sour fruit and chinese baby corn with tart balsamic vinegar notes and a mild funk. The boddy is ruddy browna nd holds wispy, diminishing white head. <P> Slightly watery fore. Nice sourness, funk. Slightly sweet sour cherry notes. Has the faintest hint of some brown ale like malts beneath the sour funkiness. Not quite as nice as the aroma indicates, but still a beer worth trying and a very decent American attempt at the style.

Cloudy Tanned Brown Coloring with No Head. Aroma is Fruity...Cherry I believe...Sour... On the Tongue...Malty, Heavy Sourness Throughout, Cherry and Woody Notes. Carbonated, Bitter Dry Finish and Somewhat Thin Mouthfeel. The Barrel Aging Added in Subtle Ways.

Bottle from Styles. Deep reddish brown colored and fairly clear. Very pleasant aroma, cherries, pit fruit and modest sourness in nose. Mouthfeel is thin and watery which is a letdown, flavors that were anticipated in aroma fail to show up. A bit of a letdown from a brewery I like.

Bottle shared by Ohiodad at CT4, thanks! Pours a reddish brown with an offwhite head. Aroma of brett, yeast, sourness. The flavor was sour with some malt, grape skin, brett and some cherry. Smooth carbonation with a sourness throughout and a dry/clean finish.

Shared by OhioDad at C-bus tasting #4. Great sour aroma which is balanced against some nice sweet malt aromas. Cloudy dark orange in color. Slightly watery palate detracts from the experience. Good sour flavors with some definite yeast detectable.

Bottle shared by OhioDad: Redish brown with an off white head. Aroma, sour, some sugars, molassas. Flavor, sweet up front with some sourness, cherries, quite malty. Some nice sourness on the finish. Good stuff.
