Commercial Description:
Cinderbock is a bock-style beer brewed with German smoked and munich malts. It's fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast and cold-conditioned for five weeks. The result is a malty, clean tasting lager laced with smoke and intrigue.

I am not much of a fan of smoked beers. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy chestnut color with light ruby highlights and only a trace of a tan head. The aroma is sour and tangy with a hint of nutmeg. The flavor is smoky on the front and follows that with sour tang and a vaguely vinegarish flavor. There is a hint of brown sugar underneath. I ended up not caring for this one a whole lot.

Pours a cloudy orange amber color with yeast in suspension and a huge, diminishing frothy beige head. Very appealing aroma of smoked malt , fruits and spices. Very good flavor of thick, rich, generous smoked malt with fruits and spices or something that gives a spicy feel. The body is medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Very well-done rauchbock, the malt is lovely.

from the gifts of the generous Ilkerts in NJ. This one is average in every respect, albeit very fresh and refreshing at the end of another super humid day. Sourness like their baltic porter! Smoke which is not my thing. Bit of metallic aftertaste.

Semi-cloudy bronze in color with a fluffy, foamy tan head, leaving beautiful lacing in its wake. Aroma is fantastic - chicory, smoked honey-baked ham, caramel, copper and jerky. Man, flavor delivers. Crispy, crumbly pepperoni with a well-defined maibock make-up underneath it all. It’s easier to think of this one in layers (peat, grain, smoke, jerky, caramel, cedar, vanilla, etc.) but in truth, it’s so well melded that there’s no point in trying to separate the complexities. Medium-bodied with a substantial load packed into each sip. Carbonation was a little spritsy at first sip but it subsided rather quickly as we went along. Finishes like hickory and wood-fired meat-meets-baguette. Such an awesome, creative rendition. I think by now I owe tpkenned a kidney for all the good beers he’s sent my way.

poured a deep hazy amber color with decent head that diminished quickly, good smell of fruit, and smokiness, good taste also of fruit and smoke, with some spice, this was a good, beer, i was a little worried i might not like a smoked beer, but this is good.

pours a cloudy amber with big head. Aroma is subtle fruit with a strong beef jerky smell. more interesting than pleasant. The flavor was similar to the aroma, but more enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Smoked fruit! Fruity, malty bock of an amber hue with some sweet/sout kick and some subtle smoke(bacon, ham quality). Sounds weird, but it all comes together quite well...smoked apricots & bacon! the light body helps make it go down easy.

Draught at Mad Mex (Robinson). Aroma is mildly vapory with soy sauce, caramel, brown sugar and toasted malt. Light fruity hops, too. Medium brown amber, cloudy with thin lacing off-white head. Heavier watery body, bit oily, with soft carbonation. Starts semi-sweet, with brown sugar and soy. Light tangy acidity and a medium smokiness. Mild alcohol taste, but hidden well. Finish is sweet with mild nutty bitterness. After is a bit sweet, not quite cloying but hangs lightly in the background. Nice beer.
