Smoked peat smell, to match the taste. Lingering somewhat sweet smoked malt finish complemented with some hop bitterness. Solid mouthfeel that stays on the tongue. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2004 Hazy, deep, dark golden lager with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is of smoke, peat, beef jerky and butterscotch. Smells like a mild rauchbier. Well-balanced flavor with lots of smoked malt, a touch of honey and bitter, citrusy hops. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, smoky, earthy, woodsy finish. I really like this beer! EdPaulsen (117), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Aroma is carmel, carmel, some smoke and did I say carmel? Very sweet. It pretty much is what it ought to be. Excellent smoked Dobblebock!
