Commercial Description:
Cinderbock is a bock-style beer brewed with German smoked and munich malts. It's fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast and cold-conditioned for five weeks. The result is a malty, clean tasting lager laced with smoke and intrigue.

Re-rate: Tap at Andy's. Cloudy orange. nice white head. Smoke/malt aroma and flavor. Clean and smooth. Nice smoked bock.***** Pours clear orange. Pleasant smoke aroma mixed with diacetyl. Smooth big malt mixed with smoke and diacetyl. Diacetyl not too dominant, but at the level where any more would be too much. Decent overall.

I try to be as objective as possible and keep an open mind when tasting different variaties of beer. The best thing about this lager is the cool label of the Goat. Maybe I am just not a "SmokeMan" but if I wanted ashes in my beer, I would go scoop a handful out of the fireplace and add them myself. This beer has an overpowering "Cinder" smoke taste to it. It is not pleasant at all or at least not to my mouth. It is the equilavent of choking on campfire smoke and is nothing like the smoked flavor of good beef jerky. I finished this lager over a 1/2 an hour ago and can still taste the nasty smoke flavor. Once I finish this rating I am going to brush my teeth and get some Listerine going. I still have five more of these to sample and am afraid I will have to force them down only because I paid for them. Nice try HeavyWeight, I'll pass on this one next time.

Aroma is not as smokey as some others. The flavor is smokey, but also sweet and fruity. The bottle carbonation has done its job, this thing is pretty fizzy. I prefer a darker, less fruity smoked.

Aroma is very malty and VERY smokey! Real nice! Pours hazy orange, with a big white head. Flavor is very smoky, and very malty, but with a nice hopy background. The aftertaste is a little bit sour, though.

A deep copper color with a huge, light, white head. The aroma, while dominated by smokiness, is actually quite light. Smoked pork, campfire, caramel, and a touch of spice. The body is fairly full, without being too heavy. More smoked malts in the flavor, with a light hop bitterness in the finish. Crisp and clean. While I'm not a huge smoked beer fan, this was pretty good. Many thanks to dberger624 for allowing me to futher explore this style that I find odd and totally beyond me.

Bottled. Poured a cloudy dark orange with a ton of smoke aroma. The taste consisted of plenty of smoke with some malt in the background. This turned out to be a really good beer, although it isn't my idea of a session beer, it is a really good fall/winter beer. Hell, it would go great at a summer barbecue!
