Commercial Description:
Cinderbock is a bock-style beer brewed with German smoked and munich malts. It's fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast and cold-conditioned for five weeks. The result is a malty, clean tasting lager laced with smoke and intrigue.

Bottle, fairly clear brown / orange pour (decanted). Malty aroma with a decent amout of fruity apple and a bit of smoke. Appropriately malty flavors again with a bit of smoke. I don’t have the bottle anymore, and didn’t record the vintage in my notes, but I think my bottle was a year old, which would explain a subdued smokiness. Decent bock beer.

Big thanks go to willblake for this one! Pours a hazy sunny orange with a short lasting light tan head. A sweet and smokey aroma...perhaps some appleskin and raisin with the smoked malt. The flavor has a good amount of smokey wood flavor to it along with sweet malt and some fruitiness although they seem to take the back seat until it hits the back where the flavors really start to compliment each other. The body seems pretty spot on, not too thick but still has a solid body to it. A nice meaty amount of smoke balanced with some smooth sweetness and a lasting somewhat warming finish. A perfect decadent comfort brew for the super-crappy weather outside.

Hammy smoke aroma with nice chipotle, cheese. Pour is a yucky light brown with a tiny head. Taste is moderatly smoky, displaying nice lager characteristics, slighty alcohol, and a delicate balance. A nice smoked but, as usual (if it’s not Aecht), I’d like to see more smoke.

For some reason I was expecting this one to be a dark brown doppelbock color but it was not. Slightly cloudy orange color with no real head to speak of. Hints of apple and citrus sit on top a strong smokey smell. This reminds me of a stronger yet less smokey version of the Aecht Marzen. This is some really tasty stuff. Received in a trade from Willblake, not sure how old it is but whatever age it is, is a good age for this one. WOOHOO SMOKE BEER!

Tap. Pours a lighter brown with not much head and hardly any carbonation. Nose is lightly smoked. Malty, but maintains the lightly smoked raisins or prunes attitude. I enjoyed that the smokey tones were not overwhelming but just right. I love smoke so I liked this one.

12 oz. bottle from my cellar. It’s been aging for 2 years now. Poured out a hazy caramel red color, with a thin tan colored head. The head fades fast, and leaves a ring of thin soapy foam around the rim of the glass. Aromas are of plums, rum soaked raisins, and slight smoke in the background. No hops aroma. Flavors are of rum soaked raisins, some smoke, and a flavor that’s hard to pin down. Thin body, watery mouthfeel. Decent enough, but not my cup of tea, as it were.

If I wanted beef jerkey in a bottle, I would have ordered as such. This was one of the weirdest beers I have ever encountered. Slim Jim... Snap into it!!!!
