Oh my. Mikey and roll into the Blind Tiger for a sampling of fine beer..however...after one or two very strong imperial stouts & porters, we were looking for the light session ale to bring the throttle back a bit. ’No sir’, replies the barman, ’it’s the strong beer, Beer Festival, nothing is under 8.5%’. By the time we got to dinner our goose was cooked.
PS: as for the beer, well it must have been good.
Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA May 15, 2005 Tap @ Barcade. No one in the bar really knew what % of Cinderbock was mixed with Hammer to make this but my guess is 1 Cinder to 2 Hammer. Being as these are two of my favorite Baker beers, it’s not surprising this stuff is pretty freakin good. The Cinder takes away a lot of sweetness thats in the Hammer but there’s still a bit of lacticity in the brew. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 5, 2005 On tap at the Blind Tiger. Dark fruit aroma with powdered sugar notes. Huge malt flavo.: Layer upon layer of malt: licorice, smoked fish, brown sugar, and black bread. Wheaty finish with the dark roast malt and some green hops in tow. A wonderfully complex and malty beer. Try it if you have the means! The tap handle is a goat head with a cigarette dangling out of its mouth, quite creative.
