| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Bottle from Dickinsonbeer in the swap 2.0. Thanks Paul! I tasted a bunch of 750s of now retired heaveweights last weekend at BCTC so I figured Id give this one a try too. Pours a murky amber with dark brown hues and a fucking huge head. Bottle was foaming at the mouth and spitting on to my counter for a couple minutes. Woops. Nose is cadbury milk chocolate, a little coffee, a little oxidation. Flavor is initially biting and sour as the heavy carbonation grabs hold of my taste buds. The initial taste is very bellgian-like, almost like a saison, than turns nutty, chocolate, coffee, and a little bit of lemony hops. This is definitely the most interesting brown I have ever had and I will give it props for that. Carbonation was way over top and detracted from the beer’s flavor potential. Finish is smooth, creamy with some herbal/spice aftertaste. jsquire (2121), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
