Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Nov 17, 2005 Cask @ Barcade. Maybe the cask was a bit old (not sure) but I can’t imagine this being what it’s supposed to be. Flavors were there but the liquid tasted dusty and dull. Caramel sweetness didn’t have any edge to it at all. Hops tasted a bit stale. Not much head retention but I find that common at Barcade. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2005 On cask at Barcade. Dark amber/red color with a medium sized off white head. Biscuity malt aroma with some caramel and a touch of dark fruits. Sweet malty flavor with caramel and a hint of citrus. Very drinkable. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2005 Cask conditioned @ Drafting Room. Poured a darker red color with a little white head. Aroma was raisins and carmel. Flavors were carmel, raisins, prunes, and a touch of lemon. Not bad. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA Sep 22, 2005 Cask conditioned at Mahars. Nice dark beer, good bite to it, but still smooth. Malty with a caramel flavor that is sweet. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2005 On tap at the Drafting Room in Exton, PA. Cask conditioned. Poured a dark and clear mahogany color with a very small sized off white head. The main aroma and taste I got out this was caramel (stronger in the taste) with some dark fruits lurking in the background. Not as good as the Nay Trouse I had before this but quite drinkable none the less. egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2005 Poured a reddish amber color with a thin, off white head that left very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of grains, caramel malt, and light citrus. Taste was very sweet, lots of caramel malt, some toffee, with sweet cherries, and light citrus as well. Taste wasn’t as good, but it was very full bodied.
